Volunteer in our libraries!

The BUSD Libraries welcome community volunteers! All volunteers should sign up through the Berkeley Schools Volunteers. This organization will screen and train volunteers for every school.  Those interested in volunteering in our libraries should sign up as a "Classroom Volunteer," a program that provides on-going support to the schools throughout the school year. After the initial orientation, you will have the opportunity to specify that you want to support the library program and identify preferred schools.

Join the Friends of BUSD Libraries!

 Attend a limited number of evening meetings for community input into the plan for the Berkeley Unified School District Library Department. At these meetings, we discuss current projects in libraries across the district, look at the existing budget and consider changes for next year. All community members interested in discussing the school libraries of Berkeley are welcome and encouraged to attend.  

Meetings typically take place in the winter and spring.
